Since 1988, FLOOD CLEARING HOUSE has been a flood zone determination contractor in support of the mortgage lending industry. FCH provides zone determinations in compliance with regulations governing such product.

Whether providing original zone determinations, offering second opinions or recertifying properties, FCH pays close attention to detail using primarily the paper Flood Insurance Rate Maps. Each determination is completed by making a manual inspection of the FIRM relative to the subject property location.

FCH determinations, when requested, include a copy of the FIRM on the back unless such is not available. When necessary to support our finding, a certificate will include a detailed, full color overlay on the back using either parcel maps or aerial photography set "to scale" against the FIRM. A copy of the FIRM is necessary to obtain flood insurance, therefore, anytime our finding reveals that the propery is located in the 100-yr flood plain, a flood map copy is included at no additional charge.
